The Best of Labor Day Sales 2019

DRESS:: Rebecca Taylor

ASHA:: 20% off with code LD20. One of my favorite local designers for beautiful, every day and special occasion jewelry. I wear this charm almost daily and I'm always asked about it. Anytime I need to dress up an outfit, I always reach for these earrings. The pave detail is so beautiful.

ANTHROPOLOGIE:: extra 50% off sale items and 20% off home decor. Loving this mirror. This blouse is on sale and with an extra 50% off it comes to $35! It is beautiful and gives me major Ulla Johnson vibes which you all know is my favorite. Love that it comes in standard, petite and plus sizes. Cloth & Stone makes a good quality button down and I love this one. The olive green color is perfect for fall and with the extra 50% off it also comes out to about $35.

REBECCA TAYLOR:: extra 40% off sale with code GETAWAY40! Ugh kicking myself because I bought this dress a little while back and wish I waited for it to go on further sale. It is THE PRETTIEST. Love this blouse. And of course love this dress that is now marked down to $166. This blouse I own and LOVE.  Honestly, you just have to check everything out- so many good finds and so many pieces seriously marked down from the past few seasons.

J.CREW:: 40% off your purchase. Such a great time to grab some back to school outfits for the kids. Lila would love this dress. I love this top with jeans for casual days with the kids. Western boots are huge this season and this is a really nice pair. And love this jacket for boys.

MANGO:: 20-30% off with code LBR19. This sale seriously frustrates me because I just made a purchase on Monday and emailed asking if the discount could be applied to my order that was made less than 48 hours ago and they said no! Talk about horrible customer service. I DIGRESS... Anyways, it's 30% off purchases over $100 and 20% off orders over $45. I ordered this mini dress, this midi dress (looove and really hope it is as pretty as it is in the picture- got it in the aqua green color) and this maxi dress that I thought would look nice belted with some booties. Loving the structure on this coat- very chic. The color of this leather Moto jacket is perfect for fall. This is a great sweater. I wanted to order this sweater on Monday but it wasn't available and now is. I think it would look great paired with high waisted denim and or a midi skirt of some sort. I also love this chunky knit grandpa cardigan.

VINCE:: shop up to 75% off sale. I have been waiting for this cami to drop down even lower and I'm so happy I did. It is absolutely stunning in the cream color. I have a version of this blouse and it's a perfect year round piece.

THE OUTNET:: Net A Porter's outlet site and they always have amazing deals. Up to 85% off for Labor Day. Love this DVF dress for 76% off- I picture it with grey OTK boots or booties. This IRO blazer is amazing.

The Best Coffee Table Books for Decorating

We are back from Nantucket and as much as we love that island, it is nice to be home. I have so many home projects I want to get working on and some organizing I need to finish up. I kept telling myself, "once the kids are back in school, I'll start." And now it's just about that time and I can't wait to tackle these projects head on. At the top of my list is finishing up our entry way. I have about three console tables that I love but I'm so indecisive and can't figure out which one I love most. The one thing I'm never indecisive about, Coffee Table Books. My view on them: the more, the merrier.

It's become quite an addiction. I've been collecting coffee table books ever since I moved into my apartment in NYC nine years ago and the round up above is only half of them. The others are still sitting in boxes in our garage from our move. I'll break them out once our home office and living room are set up.  My books aren't for just sitting pretty. I often find myself flipping through the pages and soaking up inspiration whether it's for interior spaces or outfits. Coffee table books aren't cheap. If a book catches my eye when I'm out and about, I always check Amazon to see if I can find it cheaper. I've also found some amazing ones at my local Home Goods store. They never used to carry coffee table books but have had such a great selection recently.

There are some books that I love but the cover doesn't quite blend with my aesthetic. I've found so many times that if I remove the paper cover, the hardcover ends up being perfect.

If you are looking for neutral and grey, I highly recommend these:: Houses that we Dreamt of // Perspective // The Kinfolk Home // Interiors // Dream Spaces // Interior Portraits // Restoration House

I also have a ton of pale blues and aqua :: Allegra Hicks // Surf Shack // Beautiful // The Decorated Home // Aspen Style // Surf Tribe

This is one collection that will never be complete!

Nantucket X Haverhill

TOP:: H&M // JEANS:: Mother (similar here) // BAG:: CJ Laing // SANDALS:: Kaanas // NECKLACE:: Haverhill (c/o), Zoe Lev // EARRINGS:: Madewell

Nantucket isn't called the Grey Lady for nothing. We've been here for five days and every morning has started out just like this. Lots of grey and fog! I don't mind it one bit, especially because the fog burns off come afternoon. We've had some beautiful nights as well and are definitely on vacation mode. I haven't had my phone or laptop much (just how I like it on vacation) but wanted to say hello and share a blog post with you this morning featuring the newest addition to my necklace collection.

The necklaces I choose to wear daily all hold meaning and importance to me and I'm asked about them almost daily. My solitaire diamond was my grandmother's stone that we had reset into a necklace. My initial necklace has the initials of all my children. And finally, my newest piece by Haverhill has the birthstones of everyone in our family- mine, my husband's, and our four children. The Haverhill Birthstone necklace is made of solid 14K gold and gemstones which means you never have to take it off. I haven't taken mine off since receiving it and it has already taken quite a few dips in the ocean here on Nantucket!

(PS scroll down for a special discount code)

Haverhill customized my length to compliment my other necklaces- it is 14.75 inches and fits a little bit looser than a choker. The birthstone necklace makes the most beautiful gift that holds such personal meaning. You can choose to wear gemstones that represent your loved ones, your anniversary, college colors or you can choose colors you just love! It also comes in bracelet form. Haverhill is fifth generation to make jewelry in New England (wow!) and all of her pieces are made in Rhode Island with turnaround time being 1 to 2 weeks.

I'm a true sentimentalist and feel like I'm taking a piece of my family around with me at all times when I'm wearing this necklace. It is such a special piece and I'm so happy I get to share it with you! Haverhill is so kind and has decided to give my readers 15% off their Haverhill piece with code CHRISSY15. The promo code is valid until Wednesday, 8/21.

I know you will love it just as much as I do! For those of you who have already ordered, send me a pic one you get yours. I would love to see the color combos you created!

Xo Chrissy

My Fall Wishlist

SUEDE JACKET:: Allsaints

I know, I know, I know, I know. It is STILL summer. But every summer right around this time, I get an itch for fall clothing. I always start putting together a fall wishlist and try to figure out which pieces will be at the top of my list. Right now this pair of booties is at the tippy top. They are pricey and would definitely be a splurge but the western boot trend will be big again this year and I feel like I would get a lot of wear out of them. The color is perfect and would fit in really nicely with pieces I already own. Also at the top of my list? This snake print midi skirt by Joie. So gorgeous and could be dressed up or down. Check out the rest of my fall wishlist items below! Xo

Pretty, Simple Dresses

DRESS:: Loveshackfancy // BAG:: Chanel // SHOES:: Hermes (best lookalike here) // SUNGLASSES:: Ray-Ban // EARRINGS:: Madewell

As much as I love bright colors come summertime, I often find myself gravitating towards my simple, neutral dresses when I'm in a pinch and can't find anything to wear. I had my eye on this pretty Loveshackfancy Wendy dress for a while but the price tag held me back. After checking in almost every day to see if it went on sale (it never did), I finally decided to purchase it because it would be a piece I would have in my closet for summers to come. I've already worn it over a handful of times and I've only had it for two weeks! While statement dresses are fun to have in your closet, simple dresses are a must. I've rounded up some favorites below! Xo

Little Lace Top // Summer Neutrals

TOP:: Zara // JEANS:: Levi's // SANDALS:: Hermes (lookalike here) // BAG:: Chanel // SUNGLASSES:: Ray-Ban // EARRINGS:: Madewell

I haven't done a simple outfit post on the blog in a while and wanted to share this outfit mixed with high and low pieces. The lace top I bought from Zara back in May and whenever I wear it I always get asked about it. It's $39! It is 100% sheer so I just put a cotton cami I already had under it. I wore it with highwaisted Levi's and my Hermes Oran sandals and tan Chanel bag. I hate using the word "dupe" so I use lookalike instead- if you love the look of the Hermes sandals, I found this "lookalike" style which is much more affordable and really looks just like the real deal. My hoops are my go-tos and are by Madewell. I actually have a few pairs because I wear them so often and I'm always afraid I'll lose one. Happy Saturday, everyone! Xo

My Favorite Living Room Nook

CHAIRS:: One Kings Lane (style steal version here) // TABLE:: Groms // STONE HEARTS:: similar here // BOOKS:: Kinfolk Home, Perspectives // ETAGERE:: Oomph // ARTICHOKE:: similar here

I thought it was time to give a little home update. Picking out pieces and decorating a home is a slow process. I don't want to just look in a catalog or on a website and just order everything in a one stop shop. I want to fill my home with pieces I truly love. These Bevin Chairs by One Kings Lane were chairs that I have wanted for so long but I could never justify the price. When I showed them to Emily she almost immediately found them on the Real Real for a fraction of the price. They obviously were previously owned and I was worried about that seeing as they are white chairs but I decided to give it a go and ordered them. They came almost a week later and luckily were in such great shape. There are a few marks on the back that I'm going to have cleaned (Fiber-Seal was highly recommended to me) and then they should be good to go. For now, I have them placed in our little bay window area in our living room but I will most likely move them once we find a couch and some other chairs. When I shared the chairs on stories, so many of you loved the style but not the price. After digging around, I found an almost exact match style wise that comes in a variety of colors. I've linked them all below but here it is in white leather, blush, ivory velvet and grey. I also love this style from One Kings Lane. Another chair that has been on my radar for a while? The Gwyneth Chair from cb2. Not only are they pretty to look at, but they are super comfortable.

As much as I love my chairs, I think I might love this little table more. I found it randomly one morning on Instagram. A sponsored post popped up by Groms Home and it was an immediate follow for me. I browsed their site and purchased this table on the spot. It is sturdy and so well made and I love the organic style. I also love that I have never really seen anything like it. Groms has a sale section on their site where everything they used for photoshoots is marked down by 50%. There are some amazing deals to be had there and it's where I scored this table and another blog follower picked up the other one. PS this is not sponsored and I make zero commission, just love their selection of furniture! I've always loved this chandelier and can't believe it's half off. Trying to figure out where I could put it!

These little stone hearts have also been a favorite on the blog. I bought them at a store on Nantucket in July and I called the store to see if they had any more in stock because you all loved them so much and sadly they do not. BUT I did find some identical ones and I'm wondering if they are the source. You can actually buy them on Amazon. You can buy a pack of 6 for $39 here! I might buy another pack just to see how similar they are. And I also love them and could always use some more hearts around here!

Some online sites I have been loving lately for home decor: Wisteria and cb2- all of their new arrivals are amazing!

Top Ten Favorite Purchases of the Summer

I can't believe it's August already. I hate to say this, but summer will be over before we know it and I plan on soaking up every last second of it these next few weeks. I wanted to share my favorite summer purchases so far- what I've used/worn/loved the most.

ONE // KAANAS FLATS:: These have been my go to summer flats that I wear just about every day. I remember a reader had messaged me soon after I bought them asking if they were good for running around from day to day with kids and I said while they were comfortable, they wouldn't be my first choice. Well, these sandals ended up being just that for me. I spend most of my days at the beach and I think that's why they have worked so well. They are easy, comfortable, and not crazy expensive so if they get trashed this summer, I won't mind replacing them next year.

TWO // LIVING PROOF RESTORE PERFECTING SPRAY:: Technically I bought this bottle last year but I kind of forgot about it. Once we moved, I rediscovered it and it has been an absolute life saver this summer for both myself and Lila. My hair has felt significantly more damaged this summer I think due to the fact that I've been swimming more now that we have a pool at our home. And Lila, well, her hair is pretty much a rat nest by the end of the day. We've been spraying this daily in our hair after showers and baths and it has been such a game changer. I can't recommend it more.

THREE // J. CREW ONE PIECE SWIMSUIT :: I basically have three swimsuits that fit me. This J. Crew one piece is one of them. I have a longer torso and have a really hard time with one pieces. This suit fits so well and has great butt coverage. I seriously dislike skimpy bottoms on suits!

FOUR // EBERJEY ONE PIECE SWIMSUIT :: This Eberjey one piece is one of the other swimsuits that fits really well and is my favorite for pairing with skirts and sarongs. It also comes in black which is always a good option.

FIVE // TIARE HAWAII CHEYENNE DRESS :: This dress was legit just in stock YESTERDAY for the first time since I bought it and now it's already gone. Ugh! I'm linking it anyway just in case it comes back in stock in the next few days. The style is still available in this print and this one. I love anything with a smocked/fitted top and a loose bottom. I think it's a super flattering style on just about everyone. It would also work really well with a baby bump. Actually most of their maxi styles work well with bumps! LOVE this blush one! If you like the print and color of the blue dress, it comes in this two piece set (the skirt is!!) and this shorter dress style. The perfect summery beach styles if you ask me. And the price point on all Tiare Hawaii stuff is great. Bloomingdale's and Shopbop have a great selection of styles.

SIX // WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING :: A little confession, I haven't read a book from start to finish since before Ellie was born. I just didn't have the time and felt too exhausted to start anything. Summer is the perfect time to read in my opinion. I have really been enjoying this book and have been sneaking in a few pages any chance I get and carry it with me daily. My husband is a huge reader and reads almost every night. I usually work on the blog while he reads but lately I've been ditching my computer and reaching for my book and it has been amazing.

SEVEN // CJ LAING BEACH BAG :: Someone asked if I had a partnership with CJ Laing because I post so often about them. And the answer is no, I don't. I just really love their store on Nantucket and always find so many beautiful things. I don't get any commission from any sales, I just love sharing what I love. I have the medium size beach bag in light grey but it looks like it is sold out. The dark grey is still available!

EIGHT // HEMANT AND NANDITA SAKURA MIDI DRESS:: Ahh! My favorite midi (maxi on me!) is on sale right now. This dress is so so beautiful and can be worn casually or dressed up. I love it so much and it was one of my most popular pieces on the blog this summer. I have had a few readers reach out saying they bought this and love it so much. It's not on sale here but they have it available in XS.

NINE // ONE KINGS LANE BEVIN CHAIRS :: Full disclosure, I did NOT pay full price for these chairs. I bought them for a fraction of the price on The Real Real (second hand). However, after having them in my own home now and sitting on them, feeling them, looking at them in person, I probably would have paid full price because the quality is out of control so good. The style is so modern and chic and I'm in full on love with them.

TEN // ANTHROPOLOGIE ANYA TWIST HEADBAND :: I have bought and returned more headbands than I care to admit. I don't have the most flattering shaped head for headbands but this one from Anthro is amazing and has actually been THE MOST purchased item on the blog this summer. It is so comfortable and doesn't give me headaches (something that always happens when I do wear headbands). It comes in a ton of colors and is $18. Win, win!

This post was so fun to make! Hope you enjoyed my little round up. ENJOY this last month of summer! Savor the sunsets, warm weather, down time, your friends and family. Xo
