DRESS:: Nicola Balthie // CANDLESTICKS:: Anthropologie // WINE GLASSES:: Juliska // NAPKINS:: Anthropologie

I feel like a dinosaur lately. It took me way too long to put this post up because I have zero storage left on my computer and anything tech related is challenging for me. Ugh! Anyway, I finally figured it out and below you will find pictures for a festive Thanksgiving table. I also have a roundup of some last minute Turkey day dresses, tops, skirts etc. Hope you enjoy! xo

Outdoor Finds

Summer is officially underway and we are happy happy clams over here. I thought it was the perfect time to put together a post with fun pieces to take your patio, porch or pool deck up a notch. First up, these cabana chairs by The Inside. If you haven't heard about The Inside yet, you are in for a treat! They have custom furniture in over 100 fabrics to choose from. Headboards, ottomans, pillows, you name it! I chose these fun Cabana chairs with matching pillows in the French Blue Clarence Stripe. Love how they look pool side but would be equally as cute on the porch, lawn and the beach. You can take $50 off your $200+ order with code CHRISSY50.

We needed some lounge chairs for our pool deck and I'm SO bad about bringing cushions inside when it rains and wanted something I didn't have to worry about it. I ordered these from Overstock- a set of four for $800 and the quality is great. I got the grey version which is currently out of stock but the white look nice, too. If you like grey, check out this set which is by the same make. They are on super sale! We put some garden stools in between for a little side table and it looks great. Love these lanterns

Sunday Shopping

It's Sunday...and tomorrow we officially start remote learning/homeschooling. I'm slightly nervous. Mostly because I don't know if I'll be able to give my older two what they need to learn while also watching my 1 1/2 and 3 year old. I'm hoping we get into a good groove and it becomes manageable. I just keep reminding myself how fortunate I am to be home with them, even at times when it's really hard. I'm blown away by all the medical professionals out there who are fighting the fight and giving their all every day (many of whom I have the great fortune to count as good friends). My thoughts and prayers are with them constantly.

For me, I've been beyond fortunate to stay home with my family. Spending all of my time at home has forced me to complete projects around the house that I'd been avoiding and putting on the back burner. We ordered a desk that came last week because my husband needs it to properly work from home- this lucite console wasn't cutting it! I'm also obsessively looking for better outdoor furniture. The furniture we have now is from our old house and pretty beat up. Since we will be spending a significant amount of time outside, I would love to freshen up the space a bit. After searching around, I figured out quite quickly that outdoor furniture is not cheap! Holy, I was shocked at some of the prices. Do you guys have any good recommendations? Do any of you have sets from Target? Their prices are really good but I wonder about quality- I thought this set was cool. Our outdoor space is open and not covered so whatever we have will get soaked when it rains. Let me know if you guys have any sets/brands you love!

I've rounded up some of my favorite home finds as of late below but first, here are some noteworthy mentions:

Art for Littles

BLUSH PRINTS:: Bodega (also here, herehere) // ALPHABET PRINT:: The Letter Nest // COLORFUL PRINT:: KF Original Art // DRESSER:: Pottery Barn // WALLPAPER:: Savannah Hayes // TOP:: Susana Monaco

Hello and happy, happy Friday! I thought I'd share a little snippet from Lila's room today and round up some of my favorite art for the little ones in your life.

BLUSH PRINTS: I bought these blush prints from one of my favorite stores on Nantucket, Bodega, a few summers ago. We were living in our old home at the time and I didn't have any wall space for them. I loved them so much though that I couldn't pass them up and had them shipped back to CT. I knew they would be perfect in one of my girls' rooms whenever we moved. Fast forward to two years later and they have found the perfect spot in Lila's room over her campaign dresser.  What I love most about them is how they will grow with her. They are playful and fun but cool enough to remain in her room as she gets older. They go perfectly with her wallpaper by Savannah Hayes!

ALPHABET PRINT: The Animal Alphabet Print is by The Letter Nest. Artist Sally King McBride created The Letter Nest after struggling to find meaningful baby gifts to give once her friends and family started having babies. All of her Alphabet Prints, Names and Monograms are based off her original watercolor paintings. Sally has different themed Alphabet prints to cater to the little one you are giving it to: Animal, Construction, Chinoiserie, Astrology, Dessert, Paris, Circus, Flower. They are fun and playful and my kids love going over the alphabet and figuring out the animal on our print! Sally's prints make the perfect baby gifts.

KF ORIGINAL ART PRINT: I was so excited when Katherine sent me a print of her Romas Gin Fizz painting. It is bright and beautiful and is about to be framed and hung in Ellie's nursery. It's another piece that is perfect for a nursery but is also mature enough to go anywhere in the house. I also LOVE this print of hers. The colors are so soft and dreamy. You can also inquire about a custom piece

Other artists I love for the home (not just for kids!):

Kristen Tirney, Jenn Thatcher (working together on a piece for my living room!), Katie Madden, Jen Scully, Art by O'NeillLeah Rawls (just discovered!), Sarah Otts, Caroline O'Callaghan, Tracey Kafka, Katy Garry, and I know I'm forgetting some major ones but I will update as they come to me!

One Kings Lane Sale

One Kings Lane is one of my favorite sites for the home. I have their Bevin Chairs and they are such statement chairs and really really well made. Right now they have 20% off sitewide (certain items are excluded) with an extra 10% off orders that are over $600. Everything pictured above and below is included in the sale. I've been eyeing these chairs for my dining room and I think now is the time to finally purchase. I love this swivel chair and this couch. The shape of this couch is really cool and I'm thinking about it for our home office. I'm thinking about adding some blush to our living room and love these velvet pillows. I think they would pair nicely with these animal print pillows. This piece of art would be beautiful in a little girl's room or nursery. These bookends are amazing and would be beautiful on a shelf with some neutral books.

Shelf Styling

My favorite thing to style: my bookshelves. I find myself constantly moving things around and it strangely brings me so much joy. These are the builtins in our family room and it is one of my favorite spaces in the house. The family room in general is one of my favorite spots. We have high, vaulted ceilings with huge windows looking out to the backyard and it is such a warm, happy place and where we spend almost all of our time. I've changed up our shelves since I posted the family room to the blog but the rest of the details and sources can be found on that post.

Wallpapering the backs of shelves makes such a statement and really adds character to your space. I wanted something calming and easy- I didn't want a busy paper that would take away from the beautiful artwork we had made by Kristen Tirney. I wanted something that would compliment our artwork and the decor we have displayed on our shelves. We chose a vinyl paper by Phillip Jefferies and it's called Mirror Mirror and the color is Once Upon A Grey. It is much lighter in person, especially in a bright room. Obviously, wallpapering is not necessary by any means but it can really pull the space together.

STEP 1: Before you begin styling your shelves, you should choose a color palette! I chose one accent color-pale teal/aqua and kept everything else neutral with whites and light greys. I really wanted to keep my shelves clean, serene and simple.

STEP 2: Find your important, must have, sentimental pieces that you know you want displayed and work form there. For me those pieces are: pictures from our wedding day, some baby and family photos, a few books and coffee table books that were special gifts, decor pieces I've picked up in some of our favorite places, a vase one of my oldest friends made for me, and the most beautiful rock that Charlie found on the beach. I switched out a few frames to keep everything looking similar: silver frames and acrylic magnetic frames. You can get a five pack of 5x7s for $39 here!

STEP 3: Gather your fillers: aka your clunkiest items that take up the most space. Think large coffee table books, large vases, bowls and trays. Scatter them about your shelves making sure to alternate sides. Stack your coffee table books both horizontally and vertically. I love stacking three books and placing something pretty on top.

STEP 4: Add your trinkets! Balls, sculptures, rocks and crystals, picture frames, small vases, bookends and candles. Make sure you aren't replicating the same pattern on each shelf. For example, if you have a large vase on the right side of the shelf, don't put another large, similar item on the same side of the shelf above or below it. Mix it up and layer!

STEP 5-1,000,000: Take a step back and eye it out. Change it up until you are happy with your shelves!

This weekend is a great chance to pick up some pieces for your shelves because there are so many home sales going on. I've rounded up some fun pieces below for your shelves and also linked to some amazing home sites that are having sitewide sales! Happy shelfing!

A Wintry Table & A Deal for Wine Lovers

We are huge homebodies over here and to me, there's nothing better than having friends and family over during the holidays. I put this table together with pieces I had (all from my wedding registry!) from Juliska and I love the way it turned out. Juliska was kind enough to send me a few of their new Berry & Thread glass trees and they are beautiful. I love, love my glass trees and have them scattered throughout my house during Christmas. I've been collecting pieces from this Juliska winter collection over the years and I don't quite have enough for a table yet- but I'm getting there! Can't wait until I do because I think it would make for such a festive table.  A little tip for centerpieces- if you are looking to add a little something extra but don't have any garland, head to your backyard! I snipped off a few branches and added them to our centerpieces.

On to the wine!

Harrison Wine Vault:

For all my local followers! The Harrison Wine Vault is offering a pretty epic discount to my readers. A little about the Wine Vault- they are a family run business and so knowledgeable about all things wine. They are offering my readers 20% off wines and 10% off sparkling wines now through 12/20 with code CHRISSY at checkout. They also offer free local delivery! If you are hosting or need gifts, I would highly recommend using them! It's the only place my family and I use for wine!

A little more about what they do and services they offer:
  • 15% off 12 or more bottles
  • Wine seminars in their in store classroom
  • Free weekly wine tastings at the Tasting Bar
  • Wine cellar consultations
  • Dedicated whiskey room with over 400 different whiskies
  • Order online or download the app (Harrison Wine Vault)
  • They can help with corporate and holiday gifts!
The wine they chose for my table:
Gooseneck Brut Rose $15.99
This sparkling rose is so pretty to have on the table or bar cart! The label is beautiful and reminds us of being on the beach! We like to serve it with appetizers or hand it to our guests as they come in the door.

Vice Cabernet Sauvignon $24.99
Every table needs red wine and during the winter months we love having a Cabernet available for our guests. Cabernet is a heavier red wine and goes well with red meats and sitting by the fire!

Picolo Ernesto Gavi $16.99
Do something a little outside the box this holiday and serve your guests Gavi. Gavi is an Italian white wine that is a little more interesting than Pinot Grigio. It’s light and crisp and definitely a crowd pleaser.
