There's nothing like a sun-kissed, dewy glow come summertime, am I right? Summer makeup happens to be my favorite because I keep it simple and easy. Today I'm so excited to be partnering with Nordstrom, one of the best destinations for all things beauty, to share all of my favorite makeup products to help you get that summertime glow!
STEP ONE // One of my favorite products to use is Charlotte Tilbury's Wonder Glow. The name says it all: it's a primer that gives you an instant warm and beautiful glow. I use a few drops and mix it together with either my tinted moisturizer or a BB cream. I recently bought this Tinted Moisturizer Hydrating Gel by bareMinerals in Wheat 4.5 and absolutely love it. It is super lightweight and gives a nice even coverage. Another great tinted moisturizer option that happens to have cult following is Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector. Both of these tinted moisturizers are lightweight and go on evenly and smoothly. *If my skin is feeling extra dry, I'll use Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream before applying my primer and tinted moisturizer. It is seriously magic and ultra moisturizing without feeling too heavy.
STEP TWO // I had been using Lancome Maquicomplet Complete Coverage Concealer for years and it was easily my favorite concealer that I very rarely strayed from. However, this spring I ended up cheating on it and bought two new concealers on a whim and ended up loving both. The first one is a cleaner concealer, ILIA True Skin Serum Concealer in Yucca SC2. It has medium coverage and has a very silky texture which I love for warmer weather. You do not want your concealer to settle into any under eye crevices and this one does not. I also bought Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer in shade 2C. This concealer has a bit more coverage but is just as silky and light weight feeling as the ILIA. It blends in perfectly and lasts all day.
STEP THREE // I keep my eye makeup very, very simple in the summer for a more natural look. I use NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Alhambra and the colors have such a beautiful and subtle shimmer. If I'm looking for a little more definition, I'll use a little Bobbi Brown Perfectly Pitched Defined Gel Eyeliner in Steel Grey. I also always use DIORSHOW Mascara and Benefit brow pencil in Shade 1 or 2 depending on if I've gotten a brow tint or not! Those are my year round go-to's!
STEP FOUR // My summer bronzer that I have used for well over a decade now is NARS bronzing powder in shade Laguna. It gives off a very warm glow for the perfect sun-kissed look. After my bronzer I usually dab on a quick sweep of my favorite blush, also by NARS in shade Orgasm. This blush is pretty fool proof and a little goes a long way. It is the prettiest shade of pink!
STEP FIVE // My favorite, favorite way to get an instant glow is by adding highlighter. If you've been following for a while you know I'm a highlighter addict and I love testing out and trying new ones. I have tried so many I've lost track. My all time favorite and the easiest one to use in my opinion, is BECCA Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter. I have it in a bunch of shades but my favorites for summer are Rose Quartz and Moonstone. I always use highlighter at the tops of my cheekbones, making a c shape as you sweep up towards your temple. I also add a bit to the bridge of my nose and on my brow bone. You can also skip eye shadow and dab a little highlighter on your eyelids for a pretty glow.
STEP SIX // Lips. I truly don't do a ton on my lips. I usually start by using Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment and then either swipe on Laura Mercier Lip Glacé Lip Gloss in shade Bare Pink. Every now and then I love adding a nude lip under my gloss and the only lipstick that has worked for me is by Charlotte Tilbury. I love the matte Pillow Talk lipstick.
STEP SEVEN // After my makeup is all ready to go, I spritz on AERIN Mediterranean Honeysuckle Perfume. My love for this scent is unending! It is essentially all of the beautiful summertime scents packaged in one bottle. It is my all time favorite and of course, the bottle is like a work of art and I love displaying it. Another scent I'm dying to try and that I've heard rave reviews from some of my favorite beauty bloggers is Tom Ford Lost Cherry. My birthday is this weekend and I might just treat myself to a new scent!
I also couldn't help myself but to include some beautiful summer dresses that caught my eye while I was browsing for makeup. That's what I love so much about Nordstrom- it is a one stop shop for everything. First one that caught my attention was this $55 off the shoulder and belted dress. I love the length and color. This white off the shoulder dress is gorgeous and I love how it's fitted on top. Riding on the off the shoulder train, how pretty is this style by Michael Stars? It looks so light and airy and comes in five of the prettiest shades. I love the coastal blue and I can see myself wearing this on the beach!
