Shopbop Sale II

SWEATER:: Ganni // JEANS:: J Brand (old) // SNEAKERS:: Golden Goose (love these neutral ones) // TEE: Theory (steal version here) // BAG:: Chanel // NECKLACE:: Asha // SUNGLASSES:: Ray-Ban // WATCH:: Michele

The Shopbop sale is still going strong with a few more days to shop the sale. It's a buy more, save more sale- 15% off orders of $200+, 20% off $500+, 25% off $800+ with code GOBIG19. It's a great time to pick up some resort wear pieces for spring break and for the summer, and an even better time to grab items that are already on sale.

This maxi is so pretty and I love the color for spring- great price point, too.

I also LOVE this maxi dress and it's also at a pretty good price- it would actually work perfectly with a baby bump!

Call me an old grandma, but I'm not one for super high heels. I kind of love these little heeled mules

These camisoles are such a great staple piece that you can wear so many ways. I have one in grey but think I need the black and white as well.

I could see this bag coming with me to Nantucket this summer. Obsessed with the details. It also comes in a shoulder bag AND this clutch

This dress wouldn't work for me at the moment but I'm going to make one of my sisters buy it so I can wear it when I'm a little more in shape. LOVE it!

If you love these sandals as much as I do then it's probably a good time to buy them! They are a splurge but a totally timeless piece that you will wear for years to come. I remember trying them on years ago at Saks and I still love them just as much today.

This is another pretty dress at an amazing price. Love the neutral snakeskin.

I like these slouchy white jeans for summer.

You guys always seem to love whenever I post my IRO jackets! I wear them year round with jeans, over dresses, all the time. Such a good staple.

Shop my second sale roundup below! Xo

PS: I love seeing what you guys find from me. Send me a dm or a pic if you end up buying something you love!

Shopbop Sale

TOP:: Ganni (on sale!) // JEANS:: Citizens (on sale!) // SHOES:: Ann Taylor // EARRINGS:: Lele Sadoughi // BAG:: Celine

I feel like I'm pretty good at predicting when Shopbop is going to have a big sale but this one surprised me. You can take up to 25% off your entire purchase with code GOBIG19. I pretty much only have spring on the brain and have been filling my cart with warm weather pieces. Here are some favorites::
  • This top comes in white and this pretty floral print and I really wanted to try them so put them both in my cart :) The price was right! I love good smocking.
  • Speaking of a smocked top- this Ganni one that I'm wearing above is insane. Seriously, it fits so well and love that it can be worn year round. I'll pair it with white jeans or denim cutoffs this summer. If you like the print, it also comes in this dress
  • This is the sweetest little spring and summer bag and it's already on sale!
  • I realized I have very few decent tee shirts that I can wear with cardigans or on their own. This one is on sale and I bought it last month. I now wear it atleast once a week.
  • Pregnant or not- the Piper coverup dress by Coolchange is the most perfect lightweight dress. I wore it all summer long when I was pregnant with Ellie. It comes in a few different patterns!
Scroll down for the rest of my sale picks! Xo

Questions

TOP:: See by Chloe // JEANS:: Mother // EARRINGS:: Baublebar // SHOES:: Saks Fifth Avenue
SHELF DECOR:: driftwood, books

Thanks again for those of you who submitted questions! I loved reading through them all and promise will try to answer more next time. I only had time for a few today! Xo

Q: What is your biggest piece of mothering advice for moms in the baby/toddler stage?

A: Don't sweat the small stuff. I can't tell you how much I stressed over every little thing with my first. I'm not sure if it was because I had an extremely complicated first pregnancy and traumatizing delivery, or if it's just how I'm wired (probably a combo of both) but I didn't let the little things go and beat myself up over so many things that did not matter. I remember sitting in my first baby group (still so close with some of the moms in this group!) and hearing how some babies were sleeping 13 hours at night and taking two two and half hour naps during the day and feeling so defeated like I was doing something wrong. Hunter was waking up every morning for the day at 4 and only taking small cat naps. Once I had Lila, I relaxed about these things and realized every baby is so different and they grow so quickly. Eventually everything falls into place.

Q: What are your favorite places to buy Ellie baby clothes?

A: Poor Ellie...I don't think I have bought her a single piece of clothing. Not only does she have a big sister, but she has five older girl cousins who have all passed their clothing on to her. My sister has a six month old baby girl as well and as soon as Lily grows out of something she sends it our way. But for the others I love looking for inexpensive pieces at Zara and H&M. I also love shopping local at Sammy & Nat!

Q: Who is your favorite sister?

A: I wonder who submitted this one...BTW I have three sisters and a brother!

Q: Best family/kid friendly vacation spots (warm weather please!)

A: We are not adventurous when it comes to traveling with the kids. I'm just not hardcore enough. We are so lucky that we have a good winter vacation spot with my parents in Florida and a great summer one in Nantucket with my in laws. I think once they are all a little older (no diapers or bottles) we will step out of our comfort zone and travel a bit more.

Q: What are your staple pieces of clothing?

A: 100% a relaxed fitting pair of jeans like the ones I'm wearing above and a pretty white top. That's my go to combo. For my individual every day staples: a good pair of sneakers to wear with jeans, a comfy sweater, my layered gold necklaces and a cross body bag. In the summer though I'm all about easy, breezy dresses. I am definitely going to dedicate a blog post that goes more into my staple pieces!

Q: What time do you do bath and bedtime for the baby?

A: I'm lucky that my husband is home in time from work to help with the older three while I get Ellie ready for bed. We usually tub around 6 (sometimes this changes a bit depending on her naps and feeding schedule) and by 6:30 it's lights out and her last feeding of the night.

Q:  How was your recovery from your c section this time around? I have my second scheduled and I'm nervous!

A: This was my fourth c-section! I have to say the initial recovery (like directly following surgery) was so much easier this time around. I was able to get up and move around so much faster and was less sore. Each time it got easier actually. But unfortunately, I had a rough two and a half months following my c-section. I had an allergic reaction to something they used during surgery and ended up on steroids. Because of the steroids I had a slightly weekend immune system and ended up getting an infection in my incision (no clue how) and a section of my incision was open for two and half months while trying to get rid of the infection. Multiple rounds of antibiotics! All is well now and I feel great.

Q: Favorite perfume?

A: I don't wear perfume every day (I used to be a perfume freak- my friends can attest to that, thinking of you Buh) but I do wear it when out and about. I received samples of this Hermes perfume and I'm obsessed with it but not obsessed with the price tag. I've had the samples for almost three years! I also love this scent by Aerin. And then of course love this one by Kai.

Q: Where do you buy most of your clothes?

Q: Where do you go for skin treatments?

A: I go to Skin NY in Rye, NY and see Julie. I've been to Angela as well and she is also amazing! This is where I always buy my Vintner's Daughter and where I found my favorite Gaelle Organic cleansing balm.

Q: How long have you and your husband been married?

A: It will be seven years this July! We started dating junior year of college and have been together for 12 years.

Weekly Roundup

SWEATER:: Anine Bing // JEANS:: Citizens // BOOTIES:: Zara // BAG:: Chanel

After a looooong string of sick days, I *think* we are finally starting to feel better over here. I brought Ellie back to the doctor today to have her lungs checked and everything seemed much clearer. She also slept last night which was such a game changer. Fingers crossed we have a similar night tonight!

Some of my most popular posts are roundups of my wishlist items. This list seems to grow by the second and I plan on posting my favorites in a Weekly Roundup post (if anyone can think of a more clever name let me know!)
  • This top is so pretty in person and fits so well! I ordered it a few days ago and it came today. I love it and love it even more because it can be worn year round.
  •  I think these sandals are such a great buy. They give off the Saint Laurent sandal vibe without destroying your bank account.

Under $100 Style Steals

JACKET:: Driftwood (similar here) // SWEATER :: Line and Dot // JEANS:: Citizens // BOOTS:: Zara // BAG:: Chanel

Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend! I wanted to share some of my favorite under $100 finds with you. This sweater that I'm wearing above is one of them! I love the texture of it and that it hits at the perfect spot to wear with my high waisted jeans.

Some of my favorite sites to check for some great style steals are & Other Stories and Mango. Both have great, neutral pieces that can really be mixed and matched with many pieces you already have in your closet. I love this and this cropped cardigan and have both in my cart. I think I'm going to go with the first style. I also love this pretty lace top. And how fun is this little bagThese beach pants would be perfect for my Florida trip coming up.

Most Popular & Sunday Skin

Coming up for air after a few crazy, sick days. Charlie is on the mend from pneumonia (not 100% just yet but getting there) but he unfortunately spread his little germs to his sisters and they both have horrible colds and fevers. We were tested for the flu and it came back negative. Just a nasty virus. Here's to hoping it is short lived and we are feeling back to ourselves in no time!

On to my quick post for today- I have two things I want to cover. 1. Three skincare products I'm loving this winter and 2. This week's most popular picks. On to the skincare items first:

  1. So technically I bought this Indie Lee CoQ10 toner in August but haven't talked about it on the blog yet. I purchased it at the Follain store on Nantucket this summer and I haven't stopped using it since. I use it every night after I shower and it's the first step in my skincare regimen. This toner hydrates and balances your skin's pH levels. I saturate a cotton pad with this toner and rub all over my face and neck. I then follow with my serums and creams. It leaves my skin radiant and glowing.
  2. Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask. This mask has been around for a little over a year now. It says to leave it on for about ten minutes on the directions but I use it as an overnight mask and it's highly moisturizing. My skin feels super smooth in the morning.
  3. FARMACY Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm I'm a huge double cleanser. I use a cleansing balm/oil first and follow with a gel cleanser. This cleansing balm by Farmancy is super gentle and hydrating. It says it's a makeup removing cleanser but I also use it on days when I don't wear any makeup.

I thought it might be interesting to share my most popular finds with you from time to time. The items that seem to generate the most clicks and sales. There are always a handful of items each week that stand out and I'm thinking you guys might love to see which items everyone else is loving:
  • This top and skirt set that I shared with you all during my resort wear roundup has been so popular. I've also heard back from a bunch of you who purchased it and so far everyone has loved it. I don't know why I haven't bought it yet! Sizes are running low just FYI.
  • Another resort wear pick, this dress has been another popular item. It also happens to be at the tippity top of my wishlist.
  • This Joie dress that I wore to Ellie's baptism is currently 40% off and another favorite.
  • These Jeans. I cannot say enough about these jeans. They are hands down my new favorite pair and apparently you guys have been looking for a pair like these too. Even though they are a relaxed, straight leg fit, I feel infinitely more feminine and dare I say "sexier" in them. As a petite lady, it's very hard finding straight leg styles that work for me. This pair works, and I have tried A LOT of different styles.

Winter Sale Roundup

EARRINGS:: Baublebar // TOP:: Rebecca Taylor (in black here) also love this one // JEANS:: Citizens // SHOES:: Aquazzura

Sheesh! Yesterday was a very looooong snow day. It started out with a pneumonia diagnosis for Charlie and ended in total exhaustion. He wouldn't let me put him down all day which was extremely difficult considering I was home solo with the four kids. He seems a little bit better today and has some more pep in his step. We are ready for some sunshine!

I'm curious if you guys are over winter shopping? I know I am but when I find a pretty sweater on sale I can't help but to want to buy it. I've found some amazing "transitional" pieces on sale. Perfect to layer now and wear on their own come Spring. Here are some of my favorites:

1. I have had my eye on this white top the second I saw it. Perfect for spring AND summer!

2. I love this sweater and thing it would be perfect paired with high waisted jeans for spring.

3. Do you remember this dress? I wore it to Ellie's baptism and so many of you asked where I got it. Well it's now on major sale!

4. My See by Chloe top and my Jonathan Simkhai top that I posted on stories last night got a lot of attention.

5. Ok so this is definitely for summer only (or vacation) but do you remember when I wore it this summer when I was pregnant? Such a great coverup for a bump! And of course without one as well!

6. I know this is super random but when I was in Florida I found this lightweight cashmere cardigan on sale and I was obsessed with the length. I bought it in the grey!

Truffle Love

CASE:: Truffle // SKIN CARE:: Drunk Elephant Moisturizer, Face Oil, Tinted SPF, Serum // Vintner's Daughter // Aerin perfume // VOYA facial spritz

I've been a little quiet on the blog and I feel badly about it because I haven't been posting as much as I should be. To be honest, it really just comes down to the fact that I would rather play dinosaurs, go for a walk, color, play a board game (you get the picture) with my kids than work on a blog post. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love creating posts and love to scour the internet for pretty clothes and cool shoes. This blog has always been and will always be that creative outlet I need to keep me sane. With that said, my children are so young and time goes by way too quickly (I cannot believe I'm one month away from having a six year old!) I need to savor these moments with them before they grow up and no longer need me/want me to play. So when Charlie looks up at me with his bright blue eyes and says, "Mom play dinosaurs with me" I'm 100% going to choose to play dinosaurs. In the future, If I'm a little quiet over here, chances are I'm busy playing!

On to today's post : I wanted to quickly share my love for these Truffle cases. My sister in law bought me a Truffle case years ago when they first came out. They've changed a tiny bit over the years and I've since purchased a few new ones that I use all of the time. The size pictured is the small and I use it whenever I travel. It is TSA approved and holds all of my skincare essentials in place. They seriously do not budge at all which means less spillage.  I also have the large size that I use in my tote bag when I'm out and about with the kids. I love buying these cases and giving them out as gifts!
