Back to Basics

JACKET:: Iro (similar here and style steal here) // TOP:: Ann Taylor (c/o) // JEANS:: J Brand maternity // SHOES:: Castaner // CLUTCH:: Lucy Folk // EARRINGS:: Asha

Wow...it's 3:30 already and I meant to have this post up and ready to go first thing this morning. I fell asleep by 8:30 last night which quite honestly isn't really unusual for me these days. My kids are early risers. ALL three of them. I used to get away with one or two sleeping until 6:30/7 but now they are all up and at 'em by 5:15 (at the latest). I'm so used to waking up early that on the off chance they do end up sleeping past 6, I'm usually wide awake by 5 anyway. It works out okay because we have to be out the door every day at 7:30 the latest to get my oldest to his school on time. And getting everyone dressed and looking halfway presentable is no easy feat. Anyways...the post never made it up this morning because we left the house at 7:30 and weren't back until after school pickup at 12. Then we all had lunch and played outside (had a million meltdowns over who got to use the garden shovel) until now! And now I'm exhausted and ready for bed...

On to today's post. I first want to point out this super cool clutch that I really can't take any credit for finding. I found it via Being Bridget- one of my favorites to follow-she has such a fun style and doesn't take herself too seriously. She is also super into skincare and beauty products which is my new obsession so I love checking out her blog and Instagram. Back to the clutch- I recently went to a wedding and when I was packing for it, I realized I was lacking in the bag department when it comes to fancy occasions. I decided during Shopbop's sale I was going to splurge and buy myself two smaller bags I could use throughout the summer and hopefully for years to come. I picked out this clutch by Lucy Folk (also comes in this fun color pattern) and the mini Cult Gaia in mist. I've used the Lucy Folk a few times and always get a ton of compliments. It's so different from anything I've seen before!

My jacket. I scored this jacket on major sale last year at Saks and it has quickly become one of my staples year round. I paired it with an all black look this winter and wore it over a maxi dress in Florida last month. But I really love pairing it with a good pair of denim and easy tank for every day wear. This specific style is it out of stock but Iro makes so many beautiful styles that are almost identical (like this one here). I would honestly pay full price for this jacket (yes I know a splurge) because I wear it so often and the quality is amazing. I have this gray one of my wishlist for fall and this blush one is gorgeoussss (and a little less expensive).

My shoes. I've never owned a closed toe pair of wedges before and really wanted to add a pair to my closet. After the Soludos style sold out on Shopbop (back in stock FYI), I ended up ordering this pretty metallic pair by Castaner and love them. They are pretty comfortable for a night out. I definitely wouldn't wear these walking around the city all day but since they are a wedge they are pretty comfortable.
