Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale

With the new year quickly approaching there have been a ton of half yearly or year end sales. Nordstrom's is one of my favorite spots to shop sale items since they have SO many!

 I am down in Florida but I have heard that the temperatures at home are absolutely freezing. Which means we can't think about resort wear JUST yet (unless you're one of the lucky ones escaping in the months to come. We New Yorkers still need sweaters and boots!  I have been eyeing this sweater!

What To Wear On New Years Eve

I'm a self proclaimed planner BUT when it comes to planning my outfit for a big night ahead whether it's a wedding or New Years i always find myself to be super last minute. With the help of Velvet By Graham & Spencer, Chrissy was ready for Christmas and I am ready for New Years! Their sequin blush dress is the perfect number for a night out. I love the slip silhoutte it can be paired with just about any accessory, jacket and shoe! 

We think this dress is particularly great to invest in because it can be worn from early Fall to Spring. It's super light weight and I paired it with closed toed heels and Chrissy wore open toed. The possibilities are endless with this sequin slip number!

I chose to go with a darker theme to a) let the dress stand out and b) dress it up even more! My faux fur jacket from GAP is a major steal and looks awesome with a dress or pants! It also comes in a bubblegum pink which i was naturally tempted to get! Here is another faux fur jacket I am loving to dress up any outfit.

Weekend Uniform

Even though we are mid week I can't help but think about my weekend uniform. It's pretty simple and luck for you my new staple is now 50% off!The weekend uniform consists of a cozy sweatshirt, fun "athleisure" style leggings and my sneakers. You can always find me in this on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Most of the time I am in this type of outfit for the majority of the weekend  - I will of course get dressed if we are going out but our weekends consist of running errands, walks in Central Park and binge watching The Crown. I know, I know - we are wild!!

I have gotten a lot of questions about my blush J.Crew sweatshirt since I put it on our story a few weekends ago. It's insanely cozy and the blush color mixes things up for me from my usual cream or grey - I'm wearing my normal size ( small ) it is a little oversized but I prefer my sweatshirts like this! I also have this sweatshirt from J.Crew - I sized up in this one!

Another piece I'm wearing that I cannot stop talking about it my jacket from Saks Off Fifth. I wanted something less bulky than my Canada Goose but would still keep me warm. I also wanted a down jacket in black but I didn't feel like paying a crazy price for another jacket that I will only wear a few weeks out of the year. After some searching I finally found it on Saks Off Fifth. I am SO thrilled with the quality, fit, price and warm I could talk about this jacket all day. I also love how the back is slightly different than the front!

I am all shopped out. Honestly, I am. As much as I love this time of year, I often times feel overwhelmed (like everyone else out there). Every time I start feeling stressed out, I remind myself of the pure joy my children feel just thinking about Christmas. My four year old said the sweetest thing the other day. We were talking about Christmas and how exciting it will be. We asked the kids what they were most excited about. I really wasn't expecting much from their answers seeing as they are only 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 (and Charlie is only 15 months and says "ya" to any and every question he is asked). Lila (2 1/2) immediately shouted out "princesses!" Her obsession with Disney Princesses is on another level. And Hunter (4 1/2) said, "I'm so excited for Christmas because I get to be with my family!" And my heart basically tripled in size right then and there. So yes, I'm all shopped out and kind of stressed. But I cannot wait to see my kids' faces light up Christmas morning and more importantly, I'm so looking forward to and feel so lucky to be with my family!

With that said...yes I know this post is kind of hypocritical but I wanted to get this post out before we sign off for the holiday weekend. After Kaitlin found her faux sherpa Moto jacket (in pink!) I knew I needed to add one to my closet. I saw this one by J.O.A in navy and thought it was exactly what I was looking for: good price and great color! I love finding affordable brands that make on trend pieces that don't compromise quality. J.O.A. is one of those brands for me. Once I found the jacket, I started looking at all of the other pieces J.O.A. has to offer. They make great sweaters. I love this sleeve detail and it's now 40% off- and love this one, too!

Christmas Cashmere

I have wanted a pair of cashmere pants for months now and I was finally gifted a pair as an early Christmas present from one of my friends! She too knows that Saks Off Fifth is one of the best place to find amazing pieces for less. I was so excited when I got these I immediately wanted to see if I could style them appropriately to wear on Christmas Eve!

Loosely tucked with a white blouse from J.Crew ( which is currently 40% off!) and wine colored heels, I think this might be a winner! I would also wear these pants as a daytime look with sneakers and a shorter sweatshirt - not cropped but not oversized!

I also wanted to give you all an up close look at my tree! I am a self proclaimed Christmas hoarder but apartment living you really have to minimize the holiday décor since space and storage space is so limited. My theme as you can tell is silver and gold sparkle with a few special needlepoint pieces marking special moments in mine and Grant's lives. I still need to add a P ornament for my furry friend! My favorite ornament are the silver sparkle antlers - I wanted to add these this year but like I said my storage space is so limited!

Christmas Pajamas

Matching pajamas are my favorite. I went a tad overboard this year and bought quite a few pairs of Christmas PJs for my kids. Holiday pajamas always sell out so quickly but there are still a ton of options out there and I've linked my favorites below!
