Sunday Shopping

Hi, hi, hi. I spent the last week playing catch up after our time back on Nantucket and guess what? I'm still not caught up! I realized I haven't had a blog post up since August 12th and I figured today was as good a day as any to throw one out there!

The weather today is absolutely beautiful. Usually around this time of year I'm ready for fall. I tend to feel a bit anxious when the school year starts back up but I'm always eager for the season to change. This year, however, I want to just hit pause. Our summer (although very different) was so much better than what I had expected. We mostly spent our time at the beach and things felt very calm and normal there. I have no idea what is going to happen once the school year ramps up and that makes me feel very unsettled. I wish we could stretch out summer a bit longer. Obviously, I can't do that so today's post is my way of embracing the changes...Fall, here we come. 

• I've been looking for ways to bring a little nature into our home and ordered this dried pampas grass to fill a large floor vase. They also make a faux version which look beautiful. PS Cb2 has a new collection with Kara Mann and the pieces are very cool. 

• I've been dying over all of Intermix's new fall arrivals. This oversized teddy Moto is perfect amount of cozy and cool. And this.sweater.oh.my! So good- the color, the lace at the bottom. This belt is giving me all of the Yellowstone vibes- PS if you haven't watched it yet- give it a try! You have to watch a few episodes to get into it. We are hooked. Still dying to get my hands on this cardigan. 

• It's the last day to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary sale! My original post can be found here. I bought these boots for myself in the desert sand suede and love them. 

• Mango is another site where I've been finding amazing fall pieces- at much better prices. Love the color and cut of this puffer. Kind of digging this Gillet look. How cute is this $39 bag? Go perfectly with these awesome flats. Love this skirt. 

• & Other Stories is another site I look to when shopping for pieces that won't break the bank. This is a great cotton long sleeve to layer under sweaters. How sweet is this pretty icy blue cardigan with heart buttons? Love this color for fall.

• Serena and Lily has some new fun pieces. I can't stop thinking about this mirror. My friend, Kristen has a bunch of her paintings for sale at Serena and Lily. They are gorgeous! She made a piece for our family room and I'm always asked about it. SO talented. I especially love this piece. Free shipping with code DISCOVER.

The AUGUST Edit

August. This month is always bittersweet for me but especially so this year. I love summer and spending our days at the beach and the second August hits, I end up with a bit of a pit in my stomach. This month always seems to fly by and September shows up before we know it. Our kids are supposed to be heading back to school and I pray that it ends up happening because we all need it. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit nervous about it. School is going to look extremely different this year. I remember thinking in early April that this would all be over come summer. Clearly we aren't even close to being back to normal and I'm fearful about what fall and winter will bring. Even with the crazy circumstances, we had a really nice summer and I'm going to try to hang on and savor these next few weeks. We are headed back to Nantucket soon and I cannot wait. At the beach with my family is where I feel my happiest. 

On to this month's Edit. Most of the pieces in this month's roundup are easy, neutral, and transitional pieces. I also included a few random, non clothing tidbits. I hope you enjoy!

• I finished Glennon Doyle's "Untamed" this month and there were so many good nuggets that really got me thinking. This in particular: "What if we decided that successful parenting includes working to make sure that all kids have enough, not just that the particular kids assigned to us have everything? What if we used our mothering love less like a laser, burning holes into the children assigned to us, and more like the sun, making sure all kids are warm?" Immediately after reading this, I thought of Adrienne Harper who founded Bundles of Joy. Bundles of Joy is a charitable organization that gives new parents and babies from birth to three essentials they need to thrive. I'm in constant awe of how much Adrienne and the entire Bundles of Joy team does on a daily basis to help these families in our area. You can help, too by donating and buying items off their Amazon registry. It is so easy!  

• Almost all of my skincare products are clean and non toxic but I've had a harder time finding clean makeup products that I like. I've been following makeup artist Gucci Westman and her makeup line Westman Atelier on Instagram and have been loving her take on fresh and clean makeup that looks more natural and less like makeup. I just bought her Lit Up Highlight stick (you know I love my highlighter), Baby Cheeks blush stick in Petal, and Face Trace Contour Stick. I'm excited to try and have heard nothing but rave reviews. I'll keep you posted!  

• The Nordstrom Anniversary sale early access has opened up to a few more tiers. I bought my kids some jackets and coats that I mentioned in this post and the only thing I ended up buying for myself are these boots. So many things have sold out already but I always check back and see if anything becomes available again. 

• I just bought this Dudley Stephens Union Street jacket in off white yesterday and can see myself living in it this fall with comfy clothes. I'm also going to reorder my Cobble Hill turtleneck in off white. I wore mine to death last year (especially during quarantine) and could use a fresh one. 

• I've been wearing one my great grandmother's rings on my pinky lately and I love the look. I just found this beautiful pinky gold and diamond ring and it is beautiful and simple. 

• How cozy does this wrap sweater look? Also comes in this color. 

• I love simple gold hoop earrings and Madewell makes some of the best ones for such a great price. Love these chunky ones. 

• I'm also a sucker for a pretty white top and this style steal from H&M is gorgeous. This sweater is also really pretty. 

• I just got these in from Asha and they are so beautiful. Plan on wearing them for the remainder of summer! I'm also obsessed with this Mother of Pearl Evil Eye Charm.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

I'm a little confused by the Nordstrom Anniversary sale this year. Usually if you are a cardholder you can shop the sale early. This year, they have a tiered program. Certain cardholders who spent more over the last year can shop first, and then the next level of spenders have access a few days later and so on and so on with everyone eventually being able to shop the sale on the the 23rd (I think!)

Anyway! 

I wasn't planning on posting but had a few messages from cardholders able to shop today asking to share my favorites. It's obviously very different this year because most people aren't going into stores to try on. I combed through a ton of the sale and to be completely honest, I wasn't blown away. Kind of similar to last year. With that said, I did find some pretty nice things and pretty good prices. Some I already own and some I've tried on. Sharing below!

Noteworthy mentions::

• Last year I tried on all of the leather and suede jackets by ALLSAINTS and they were hands down my favorites pieces included in the sale. They sold out pretty quickly. I bought the suede one pictured above last year. This year they have a few different leather options that are beautiful. This misty grey is my favorite. I also love this dusty rose color. And this deep berry color is perfect for fall. 

• This fall is going to be a huge comfort season for just about everyone with most of our time spent at home. I love this oversized sweatshirt, these tie dye leggings, and this cozy wrap jacket.  

• Hanging on the comfort train, also love this puffer and this warm jacket. I've had this Patagonia for years and wear it all the time for running around with the kids and outdoor adventures. 

• Speaking of Patagonia and kids: I always buy my kids' jackets and coats during this sale. I bought this North Face one for Lila and Ellie last year, love this Patagonia zip up for the boys, and this North Face for the boys.  Tons of good jacket finds by both brands here!

• If I had to buy only one coat for myself it would be this wrap one by Vince. I had a version of it from a few years ago and it is my favorite. It's already sold out in sizes in the camel color but I love the grey too. 

• Love these chunky 14K gold hoops.

• Tempted to buy this STURM set.

•  I love this shampoo and conditioner and it comes with the only dry shampoo I'll use. 

• This is a pretty oversized sweater and this one reminds me of the large camel one I bought last year. 

• I usually pick up candles and candle sets as gifts for the holidays during the sale. Love this Diptyque set. 

• We bought Ellie this carseat last year and it is the best. We also had this infant carseat for her and for Charlie and I think Nuna makes the best carseats. This stroller is also supposed to be great. 

• We still have the ORIGINAL UPPAbaby Vista from when Hunter was a baby and these strollers are built to last. Love this color combo on sale. And this brand of strollers is supposed to be amazing. Love the double!

• A GREAT time to buy Uggs for the kids! Lila has already picked out this style. 

• I didn't see a ton of women's shoes but did love this hiker boot in the desert sand suede.

Sunday Shopping

What was supposed to be a grey, rainy day has turned into quite a stunner. The sun is shining and I'm about to unplug for the rest of the day and head back outside. But before I do, I wanted to share few Sunday Shopping links with you!

• I don't think I've ever received so many messages after posting this dress on stories the other day. I felt so bad because I posted it in the evening and went to bed so early and had so many dms that I couldn't get to in time before Intermix ended their sale. I ended up finding the dress on a few other sites but it is quickly selling out. Mytheresa, NET-A-PORTER, Forward, 24S have different sizes available. For those asking about sizing: I took a P/XS and it fits well. I need to have the straps adjusted up top but that is pretty much always the case for me when it comes to dresses. It's supposed to be a midi length but ends up being a maxi length on me and I love it and won't have it hemmed. It also comes in black here and here and they are both on major sale!

• I posted these Asha earrings on Friday after they just launched and I'm obsessed. Love the rattan flowers. A very fun, summer earring. They also just launched some beautiful dresses. I love this one. And my favorite light weight earrings are currently on sale for under $100. 

• One Kings Lane is having a buy more, save more: up to 25% off. My chairs pictured above are included! 

• Mountain and Sackett have been my go to for masks. They just came out with this kind which can also be worn as a headband, tied to your bag, etc. 

• Joie is having a 40% off sitewide sale. Love this sweatshirt and sweatpants combo (aka mentally preparing myself for a fall stuck at home)

• The prettiest ring dish I ever did see.
