Sunday Shopping

It's Sunday...and tomorrow we officially start remote learning/homeschooling. I'm slightly nervous. Mostly because I don't know if I'll be able to give my older two what they need to learn while also watching my 1 1/2 and 3 year old. I'm hoping we get into a good groove and it becomes manageable. I just keep reminding myself how fortunate I am to be home with them, even at times when it's really hard. I'm blown away by all the medical professionals out there who are fighting the fight and giving their all every day (many of whom I have the great fortune to count as good friends). My thoughts and prayers are with them constantly.

For me, I've been beyond fortunate to stay home with my family. Spending all of my time at home has forced me to complete projects around the house that I'd been avoiding and putting on the back burner. We ordered a desk that came last week because my husband needs it to properly work from home- this lucite console wasn't cutting it! I'm also obsessively looking for better outdoor furniture. The furniture we have now is from our old house and pretty beat up. Since we will be spending a significant amount of time outside, I would love to freshen up the space a bit. After searching around, I figured out quite quickly that outdoor furniture is not cheap! Holy, I was shocked at some of the prices. Do you guys have any good recommendations? Do any of you have sets from Target? Their prices are really good but I wonder about quality- I thought this set was cool. Our outdoor space is open and not covered so whatever we have will get soaked when it rains. Let me know if you guys have any sets/brands you love!

I've rounded up some of my favorite home finds as of late below but first, here are some noteworthy mentions:

Cozy Quarantine

How is everyone holding up? We are hanging in over here. I'm not going to lie, last week I started to feel pretty anxious. I stopped reading and listening to the news and I've only been reading general updates that my doctor sends out and it's definitely helped. The first week of quarantine I would refresh my coronavirus search just about every few hours- it was not healthy!

We've been home since the afternoon of 3/11 and have finally gotten into a pretty good groove. My older two are technically still on "Spring Break" so the little groove that we are in is going to change on Monday when we start their remote learning. My husband has been working from home which has  definitely been a help- he's been waking up extra early to start working so he can help me at times throughout the day.

Oh and MAE! Sweet Mae. We adopted a puppy last week through NY Pet Rescue and it has been the best thing ever. We had been hoping to adopt a dog for the past few months. My Mom has been super active with NY Pet Rescue for close to 18 years now when my family first adopted a rescue pup. My parents currently have four rescues and each of my siblings has a rescue as well. It was time for our fam! We were originally supposed to adopt this beautiful Golden mix puppy but she was extremely timid and scared and wouldn't thrive in a home with four young kids. I'm not going to lie, I was completely crushed. As fate would have it, Mae came up on the same transport from TX as the golden and I came across her picture a few days later. (Sidenote: if you aren't familiar- many dogs in northeast rescues come from the south- either strays or from kill shelters- you can read more about it here!) It was pretty much love at first sight. Mae is a four month old "lab mix" but really we have no idea what combo of breeds she is. What we do know: she is sweet, playful, gentle and so so loving. Her entire backside shakes and wiggles back and forth the moment any of us walk into the room. Mae is also a couch potato and we joke about how lazy she would like to be. With that said, she also loves a good game of fetch and chasing the soccer ball around. She is the best snuggle buddy and loves nothing more than to plop herself right on to any of my kids' laps when we are hanging on the couch.

When we adopted her, we didn't know much about her backstory. A few days ago, the volunteer who helped us with Mae's adoption reached out because she found out some info on Mae. Mae was abandoned in an apartment (she was probably 10ish weeks at this time?) and was eventually found by the building manager. He took her in for two weeks before she was given to the rescue agency in Texas. And now the rest is history! How anyone could just abandon her is heartbreaking. She has been the best addition to the family and we love her so much. If you are thinking about adding a dog (or cat!) to your family, I would highly recommend adopting!

I wanted to share a few things that we've been doing with the kids below as well as a little roundup of some "cozy quarantine" goodies. Hope you all are hanging in there!
  • I've been living in sweats. I totally get changing into real clothes when you are working from home- people have said it makes them more productive. BUT the only working from home I'm doing is trying to keep my children (and puppy) alive, fed and entertained. SO sweats have served me well. My favorites: anything by The Great, my Dudley Stephens fleece and joggers, this Lou & Grey sweatshirt, my Varley sweatshirt.
  • Another necessity: our Chappywrap blanket. We have two on our couch right now and we LOVE them. They are currently 20% off with code STAYCOZY.
*I've decided to donate all commission I make with my Amazon links to charity: TBD. Let me know if you have any good ones!

What day is it?

SWEATSHIRT:: Ulla Johnson (on sale!) // EARRINGS:: Shashi

Seriously, anyone? I'm losing track of my days.

How is everyone doing? I have about three unpublished posts with updates and info but I haven't been able to finish them...Four kids and a new puppy = zero time. I won't be writing too much today but wanted to share a few good sales to cheer you up. While browsing I couldn't help but to think about the warmer and brighter days ahead. They are coming, I promise!

xo

INTERMIX: 25% off just about everything! My Ulla Johnson sweatshirt pictured above included. Usually Intermix is final sale on all sale items but most of the items included in the sale are returnable. I ordered this Ganni top this morning in hopes to wear it some day soon when all of this is over. This top is so beautiful too and comes in a dress version which I LOVE. Also loving: this jumpsuit and these heels.

JOIE: 40% off everything with code VIP40. Yes, 40% off! Online it says 30% but I received a code for 40%. Love this easy, gauzy top. This top is BEAUTIFUL but they don't have many sizes left. It also comes in this style.

Nordstrom Sale

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? A little shaky? That's how I feel. I asked on stories yesterday to send some blog post recommendations my way and the majority of you asked for the usual content you find here. I also had some requests on what I've been doing with the kids, some quarantine fashion picks (hah!), TV shows and movies recs, and loungewear. I plan on getting to all of these ASAP but for today, I had to share the sale happening over at Nordstrom.

Highlights:

I was shocked to see my Vintner's daughter on sale for 25% off! Insane! Just bought two bottles because I go through mine quickly.

Lots of good beauty products on sale: the supersonic hair dryer, revitalash (going to try!) La Mer eye cream, one of my favorite highlighters (I use it in moonstone and champagne pop). Pretty much every beauty product you can imagine is on sale! Perfect time for some self care. Facemasks, anyone?

The Great. One of my favorite lines for casual wear. My sweatshirt in this pretty shade of pale blue, easy breezy top, and this sweatshirt is on sale for 40% off- I'm wearing a version of this style right now!

Pretty sure this looks like the most comfortable thing ever.

This grey Chloe bag is also included!

Reformation typically doesn't go on sale but all of their pieces are included!

And so. much. more!

Spring Style for Under $200

TOP:: Sézane (c/o) // JEANS:: Citizens // CHAIR:: One Kings Lane // RUG:: Stanton Carpet (via Redicut Westport) // TABLE:: Phillips Collection

Who else needs a break from all of the Coronavirus talk? It's a good chunk of what I've been thinking about lately and I think it's safe to say I'm not alone on that one. We are supposed to be going to Florida on Sunday and I've heard mixed opinions on whether or not people should be traveling or staying home. My husband and I decided this morning we will be staying put. For one, it's the right thing to do. The most compelling articles I've read have stated how important it is for us to stay put. "Social distancing" not just to keep us from getting sick but to keep us from getting other, more vulnerable people sick. We had to cancel our spring break plans last year because we all (even Ellie at five months old) came down with the worst case of the flu. It included two hospital visits and it was quite scary. Is it disappointing to have to miss out on spring break for the second year in a row? Yes. Is it the end of the world? Absolutely not. There will be plenty more trips in the future and I truly think we are doing what's best for our family and for those around us. The schools in our area have all been closed and I just placed a large order on Amazon of kid crafts to keep us occupied for the next few weeks. Let's hope the weather cooperates and we can spend time playing outside in the backyard/riding bikes in the driveway!

Now...for a little Coronavirus distraction! One of you sweet ladies asked if I could do a roundup of under $200 spring picks and I've been linking pieces all week. So here you go! I hope a little shopping gives you a much needed distraction. Xo

Sézane has some really beautiful pieces for decent prices. They recently gave me a credit to shop their site and I picked out this blouse featured in these photos. The colors are beautiful and work well for fall as well.

I really love a top or dress with a smocked bodice. This top by Reformation is so pretty and would be perfect with a pair of high waisted denim. I also like this top from H&M, this one by Rachel Pally (comes in dress form as well), and this one by WAYF

An Ann Taylor ad popped up in my Instagram feed the other day and I found some really pretty things. This floral appliqué sweater, this blazer and these jeans.

This might be my new spring jacket.

Shopbop Picks for Under $200

TOP:: Susanna Monaco // LONG NECKALCE:: gold & gray

Hello! Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. This post was meant to go up last week but I had a lot going on and forgot :/  Today is the last day to shop the Shopbop Sale: be sure to check out my first roundup and my second one! Today's batch of Shopbop goodies are all pieces that are under $200.

I bought this Free People dress and shared it on Instagram a few days ago! So many of you ended up purchasing it- hope you love it as much as I do! FYI it's on the shorter side so if you are super tall and not into "mini" dresses than I would pass on it. I also love this maxi/midi Free People dress!

One of my favorite affordable brands for beach dresses/summer dresses is Tiare Hawaii.

Shop the rest of my favorites for under $200 below!

The Shopbop Spring Event I

TOP:: The Great. // JEANS:: Citizens

You know I love my Shopbop sales, especially right when we are about to change seasons. Shopbop just kicked off their Spring Event: save 15% off orders of $200+, 20% off orders of $500+, and 25% off orders of $800+ with code SPRING. It's the perfect time to add a new piece or two to your Spring wardrobe.

WHAT I HAVE FROM THE SALE:
  • The Great top pictured above will be in heavy rotation come spring. It is lightweight cotton and machine washable, making it the perfect top to wear everyday. A little pricey but worth it!
  • Varley Manning Sweatershirt. I needed an comfortable sweatshirt to wear with leggings that wasn't cropped or banded. I ordered this one on a whim a month ago and I'm so glad I did. So comfortable and it has cool zippers on the sides.
  • Olivia High Rise Denim. This is probably one of my favorite pairs of jeans because they are a stretch denim and super comfortable. The wash is perfect for spring and summer.
  • Alexa Chung Floral V Neck Dress. So technically this dress hasn't been delivered yet but I ordered it yesterday when the sale opened during early access. It looks so pretty!
  • Shashi Rio Flora Hoops. I love these hoops! I've been having a thing with wooden jewelry and these are so pretty and $50.
  • ALC Renzo Dress. This dress is comfortable, flattering and can be worn to weddings and events year round. The color is so pretty and I'm pretty sure about five women from my extended family own and love this dress!
WHAT I WANT:
  • Mara Hoffman Violet Dress. I've been eyeing this one for a while but I'm not sure if it will be too overwhelming on me. Might give it a try because I love the top of the dress so much. I also love this white maxi dress as well.
The list could honestly go on! I found so many great things for Spring that I had to make two posts! This is Round I- make sure you check out Round II!

The Shopbop Spring Event II

And here is my second roundup of my favorites from the Shopbop sale! Make sure you check out my first round up!
