Since the foyer is the first thing you see when you walk into someone's home it should say a lot about them! I knew I wanted mine to have a pop of color and of course accented with gold. 

After deciding to wallpaper the ceiling in a sandy leopard by Schumacher, I immediately wanted a pink rug! I love pink and I love leopard. I will never get sick of either and I personally think they go very well together. I had seen a bunch of kilim rugs on various sites but fell in love with this one from NuLoom ( I also like this one). The dyed fuchsia with a little bit of purple felt perfect in this small space. Just enough color!

My mom gifted us with the gold and glass console, so naturally I thought painting the door gold would be really fun. I am all about color in small spaces and since my rug was pretty bright, I toned down the color of the door. For a while I was thinking of doing an actual color but then thought a metallic would tie in the sandy leopard and the bright pink really nicely - not to mention I have gold accents throughout the space! I also paired the ghost chair just on the one side of the console. Two felt cramped and i liked the idea of having something stack my work bag on or a duffle when leaving for a trip. It also just anchored the entire space and this one that I have in my foyer and my office was a total steal!

My best advice for decorating any shelf or console is get coffee table books and candles! A great stack of books with an antique and a candle is the perfect start to decorating a surface area. I got a few objects from Jonathan Adler as well. Decorative objects are pretty hard to find so just keep popping into shops or browsing online to find little pieces here and there. Trust me it takes time!

I love the mirror I chose to put on that wall. It's helpful to have a mirror whether above your foyer console or on another wall so you can get a quickie once over before heading out! I know there is a little peek of my etagere which I recently ( after this photo) redid. Like I've said in past home décor posts - I have a bad habit of redoing things! I will follow up with my etagere post but for now shop some foyer staples below!

Designer Spotlight :: Gorjana

RINGS:: Gorjana 

For as long as we can remember we have always been big fan's of Gorjana. The brand is exactly what Chrissy and I look for in jewelry. Gold, dainty, stackable and affordable! With the Holiday season fast approaching we thought we would share what Gorjana gifted us! 

I love stacking rings - whether its on all five on my right hand or three and then adding to my index finger on my left I cannot get enough of fully stacked hands! I'm kind of into the mentality of "why not!?" Gorjana kindly gifted me these stacking rings which are perfect to mix and match. The Amara rings also come in earrings and a necklace!

The rings are really fun to wear all three on one finger or like shown in my photos I chose to stack two on top of my G ring ( it's from Lester's!) and put the other one on my index. I also like these plain ones - can always use plain gold bands!

Cozy Sweaters

Nothing better than an oversized super soft sweater, am I right? This one is from Anthropologie and is currently 20% off during their sweater and tops promotion. I love it for multiple reasons:
     1. It's insanely soft.
     2. It's the perfect length- long enough in the back and I can easily tuck it in in the front.
     3. It's a "no fuss" piece. You can throw it on and head out the door!

Anthropologie always has good finds this time of year and I'm loving their sweater collection right now. I have my eye on this cardigan and love the color of this sweater. I rounded up my favorite sweaters and tops on the site on sale below!

Moto Jackets

You're probably thinking by now this girl has a jacket obsession but to be honest it's not as bad as my jean and shoe obsession - I just happen to have been finding some pretty great steals this season! I first saw this Avec Les Filles moto styled jacket and was debating between the pink and the black. I own minimal black clothing and for a New Yorker that says a lot! The bubblegum suede seemed really fun and it't not a loud color so I went for it! 

The jacket is slightly over sized which I LOVE and ever since i purchased this one I have been seeing almost identical shearling / moto jackets online and in stores. I do think a black one is really nice to have - it goes with almost everything.

Faux Shearling

Jacket:: Velvet by Graham & Spencer

I have been having quite the obsession with jackets this Fall / Winter season but more specifically with shearling. While on my way home last night I stopped in at the Gap and tried this jacket on. It's currently in my cart ready for checkout! A few weeks ago I purchased this pink jacket which i will be doing a full post on next week! 

Safe to say I will be keeping warm this season but I cannot get enough of this ultra cozy fabric. Whether it's inside or outside of the jacket I am totally sold and want to be wrapped in shearling! It doesn't have to necessarily be in jacket form - faux shearling is always a good idea when it comes to blankets and shoes! I purchased this one (it's on sale!) from Pottery Barn last year but how cozy does this one look!?

Rebecca Minkoff Rosemary Dress

I cannot believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner which means Christmas will be here before we know it. I say this every year and almost every year I fail, but I'm seriously trying to get a head start on my Christmas shopping. Like now. We are also starting to get all of our holiday gift guides in order and will post them towards the end of this week and into next week. If you've been with us for a while then you know we love posting "Gifts of the Day" (especially when they are on sale) in addition to our gift guides so you will have plenty of gift giving options!

On to this dress... I had been looking for a good "in between" dress for Fall and Winter. One that I could dress up and dress down. It needed to be more on the flow-y slide and less on the structured side. I definitely wanted a dress with sleeves and something that I could wear with boots, booties, heels and even flats. I saw this Rebecca Minkoff Rosemary dress while browsing Bloomingdale's a month or so ago and they didn't have my size but I loved everything about it and knew it was the dress I had been looking for. After doing some extensive online research I found it on a few different sites but all were out of my size. I literally checked back daily (yes insane I know) to see if it would be restocked. I finally found a site that carried my size and the rest is history! Lucky for you, it's just been restocked on the Rebecca Minkoff site and Nordstrom's site (will ship out 11/16). It is such a flattering dress and I feel super comfortable in it. And FYI it fits true to size!

No Friday Favorites today... We've had one crazy week at my house with some minor injuries (big gash on my oldest son's head) and colds and fevers. I just could not get my act together for a favorites post today and decided I'd share this look instead.

I wore this sweater last Friday and got a ton of questions about it. It's from last year by Club Monaco and this color has sold out but it is still available in a pretty grey. These jeans are my new favorites and they are 30% off right now. I live for J Brand jeans. Mostly because they make so many cropped styles which means I don't have to get them shortened! Anybody under the 5' 3'' mark- J brand cropped jeans should be your new favorites. I especially love this style because they are high waisted (yay for moms!) and darker than the other styles I have.

My shoes were a favorite purchase I made last fall and sadly they are no where to be found online. They are called the "Gena" by Rag & Bone- you might have some luck on gently warn styles on Tradesy or other sites like that. I love this style by See by Chloe and these Rag & Bone's are on my wish list.

I tend to gravitate more towards statement earrings rather than statement necklaces. I love this pair I bought from Shopbop by Gorjana. They are so lightweight and easy to wear and the color is perfect for this time of year.

Ok...now back to my sick kids! Hope you all have a WARM weekend!
