Gray Days

SWEATER :: Vince, similar here // JEANS :: James Jeans // SHOES :: Ivanka Trump, similar here and here // BAG :: Chanel, similar here // SUNGLASSES :: Ray-ban  // EARRINGS :: Anthropologie, similar here

It's hard to put yourself out there. For the past six years this blog has been a fun and creative outlet for me but I was always hesitant about putting too much of myself out there. Partly because I was nervous about what people might think and also because I consider myself to be a pretty private person. But after months of brainstorming with Kaitlin about how we could turn this blog of ours into something more, we decided we had to step out of our comfort zone and start creating more authentic and engaging content. You can expect to find more posts geared towards our personal styles- including more home decor, beauty and lifestyle, and outfit posts. We hope you enjoy and thanks for reading!

If you took a look inside my closet you would notice about 75% of it is made up of some shade of gray (mostly lighter grays). I've never met a shade of gray I didn't like and I seem to keep adding more and more of it to my wardrobe. I purchased this Vince sweater during Shopbop's sale. I was a bit hesitant at first because of the price but it is made of the softest cashmere and is so comfortable. My kids literally pet me like a dog every time I wear it because it is so soft. It is a slightly cropped style so I paired it with this pair of higher waisted denim.

I've mentioned it here before, but I really hate wearing super high heels and will avoid them at all costs. I'm a sucker for block heels and was super pleased to see they're back in style again this season. I had the Gianvito Rossi Janis heel on my wishlist all last year but never bought them because I didn't want to invest in shoes I wasn't sure I would love for years to come. I ended up finding these Ivanka Trump (yes, I know) knockoffs on clearance for $40 last summer. While they currently aren't available at the moment, I found this Sam Edelman pair that looks exactly the same and this other Ivanka Trump style in the same color.

While I won't be wearing this exact outfit to school drop off or to gym and music classes, I will wear it with a pair of comfy flats! (And I did just that yesterday!)
