Honeymoon In Africa

Our honeymoon was absolutely amazing! I can confidently say that each leg of the trip exceeded our expectations. Capetown was our first stop - although quick it did not disappoint. The views from table mountain were breathtaking, followed by more unbelievable views of the city and ocean at nearly every stop.

From Captown we flew slightly North to go on safari. I have heard this experience is life changing and it one hundred percent was. Seeing a herd of elephants, a baby giraffe and many many more sightings was beyond words.

After being adventurers in South Africa we flew to Mozambique and hopped over to a very small, very remote island called Benguerra. I have truly never seen an island like this one. At low tide the water completely disappears for miles and it looks like the desert with your occasional flamingo!

Climbing sand dunes, visiting the local school, and snorkeling through a reef were some highlights in Benguerra. It was an amazing two weeks and Grant and I urge everyone to go to Africa!

Enjoy the pictures!

  1. Would you recommend any of the hotels you stayed? Also, how long did you spend in each destination and was it enough? Thanks!

  2. Hi Lindsay! I would 100 percent recommend each place we stayed. All three were truly the absolute best. We spent 2 full days in cape town ( 3 nights at the One & Only) and with 2 full days it was everything we needed to see in cape town. We spent 3 nights on safari - we arrived in time for an afternoon drive and left after a morning ride so we got 6 rides total - the perfect amount. We stayed at the lead wood lodge on the wabi sands reserve. it was voted best lodge 3 years in a row in south africa. And finally Benguerra island we stayed at Azura. There are only two lodges on the island and the And Beyond lodge is fairly new. Azura was extremely remote and relaxing - we spent 6 nights here. I would not change one thing not even the amount of time at each spot it flowed very nicely. Please don't hesitate with further questions!!
