Nantucket // Summer 2021

Nantucket has always been such a special place for our family and we dream about our summer days on the happiest island all year long. We are headed back to Nantucket very soon and I thought it was the perfect time to share a Summer 2021 Nantucket Guide that I teamed up with Erin Wilson to create. Erin is a sales and Rental agent at Fisher Real Estate, entering her 5th summer in the business and as a full-time Nantucketer. She also has a lifestyle brand called A Salty Soul.  If you are still looking to plan your summer vacation or interested in learning more about Nantucket Real Estate you can contact her at Erin@FisherNantucket.com.

So ready for summer 2021 on Nantucket! Here we go!

TO STAY //

Faraway Faraway is the talk of the town as the newest hotel opening this summer.  Brought to us by Blue Flag Partners, this team has an affinity for design so we promise the newest boutique hotel will be filled with details pleasing to the eye.  Sister Ship will be a charming restaurant & bar, expect creative cocktails, good food and a cool yet comfortable ambiance.  How beautiful is the courtyard pictured below? (Erin's pick)

TO SHOP //

The Green Market Nantucket: Opened by an islander, Tessa, in partnership with Jenny from The Green. Expect clean beauty, flowers, local finds & healthy fresh food!  Located at 4 India Street. (@TheGreenMarketNantucket ) (Erin's pick!)

Milly & Grace:  This women’s boutique is a staple on island and a must visit! They carry a range of clothing from dresses to tees, some home décor and new this year – clean beauty!  Emily believed in A Salty Soul from the very beginning and carried the brand in its very first year! (Erin and Chrissy pick)

Bodega: This is one of our favorite home stores, Steph the owner has the most amazing eye!  Expect modern lines and a casual vibe.  This is a great stop for furniture, bedding, art & accessories to make your home feel unique!  They offer design services as well. I don't ever leave the island without popping in to Bodega and almost always come home with something special. (Erin & Chrissy pick)

For Now:   For Now opened it’s Nantucket outpost a few years back and is entering season 3!  Expect a fun, unique range of brands in store. These incredible founders have a knack for finding small brands and helping them grow their business and reach a wider audience. A Salty Soul will also be found in For Now this summer, just like last! (Erin and Chrissy pick)

DAWN: Dawn opened last summer and I had a chance to pop into it over the fourth of July weekend. I was blown away by their selection. I discovered so many new brands at this shop and walked away with a beautiful dress and cozy sweater for the fall. Can't wait to stop by again our next trip back. PS they have the cutest golden retriever puppy who pops her little head up to say hi to the customers! (Chrissy's pick)

The Lovely: This is our go to boutique for dresses!  Julie has an eye for the unique and is not afraid of bold colors.  Walking into her store just makes you feel happy and you will not leave empty handed.  Be sure to check out the Tylo line, best dresses for day to night! (Erin's pick)

Gracie Geier:  2020 was a blurr so you might have missed last year’s debut of this great new addition to the women’s boutique scene on island!  Be sure to stop by Gracie Geier at 16 Straight Wharf. (Erin's pick)

Tidal Creeks Ship Store: This iconic spot along the harbor has a new owner!  This shop is stocked with everyday needs for boaters, scallopers, anglers and water enthusiasts.  (Erin's pick)

The Vault: If you have not stopped into The Vault, you have to!  This is a must stop for jewelry and it does not feel like your typical store!  From classic to statement pieces, Katherine Jetter not only makes her own jewelry but offers a curated collection from other top-notch designers. (Erin's pick)

Nantucket LoomsAnother beautiful home store that I always pop into. Filled with high end unique pieces for your home. (Chrissy's pick)

TO EAT //

Cru: Lunch with a view, obsessed with their lobster roll.  If you need a lift me up, the ambiance at Cru will always put you in a better mood!

Slip 14:  Located at the end of Old South Wharf, this laid back spot is perfect for an afternoon cocktail

167 Seafood: Located in Cisco, this is one of our favorite spots especially when town is overly busy.  Buy your drink of choice in the market, order your food from the food truck and relax in the courtyard or take your food to the beach and catch sunset!

Millies: one of our favorite spots for the best Margs, chips and guac, quesadillas and an epic sunset. Located in Madaket, right near the beach. Get there early and grab a picnic table outside. After eating an early dinner you can head down to the beach to take in the most beautiful sunsets. PS my order is always the Bartlett Farm Quesadilla- so good!

Galley Beach: one of the most beautiful settings on island for both drinks and dinner. It gets very crowded so either head over early or make reservations well in advance! Check out the sunset from dinner last summer below:

Something Natural: lunch to go! Our all time favorite sandwich spot. Order your lunch and bring it to the beach- don't forget to get their cookies. You won't regret it!

The Chanticleer: one of the most special restaurants on island. Located out in Sconset, away from town. The garden is stunning and the food is unbelievable. A picture of the entrance and garden below!

TO DO // kid friendly

Critter Cruise: This is a classic and must do kid’s activity.  It’s a one hour adventure out on the harbor where kid’s get to learn about critters from the sea. Kids get to fish and see Nantucket sea life up close and personal. Such a fun outing for kids!

Barnaby Toy and Art Shack:  NEW this year!  Everyone loves Barnaby and this is a great addition in town for kids. They are offering  a range of classes taught by professional artists and educators.

Drive in Movie Theatre: Dreamland got creative during COVID last summer and set up a drive-in movie theatre showing classics like Jaws. It was such a hit, they are bringing it back for summer 2021, you can find the schedule on their website: https://www.nantucketdreamland.org/shows/view-by-program/drive-in Movies start when it gets dark and they have a range of movies throughout the season to make everyone happy!

Children's Beach Playground: the sweetest little playground right on the harbor. There's a snack bar and beach shop right there just in case the kids get hungry! You can also stroll into town from the playground. My husband and I would let the kids get all of their energy out at the playground and then push them in the stroller to town. Grab muffins for the kids and coffee for us and it made for the perfect early morning activity!

Nanpuppets: My sister in law discovered this puppet show in June and my kids LOVED it. Lizza has puppet shows throughout the week all over the island. Ellie has been asking to go back and see the puppets ever since we left Nantucket. Perfect for a not so great beach day or if you are looking for a quick activity for your kids.

Thank you so much to Erin for helping put this guide together! I plan on adding more to it this summer!
