Mini Dresses & Booties

I dress pretty casually every day- jeans, sweater, and sneakers or booties. But over the last year I realized how much I'm lacking in the dress department once the cooler months roll around. I have a ton, and I mean a ton, of summer dresses but my fall to winter options are minimal at best. I have some events coming up this fall, some which are right after I have the baby, and wanted to find dresses that would fit now with a bump and after. This Sézane Olivia dress is exactly what I was looking for. I love the floral pattern, color, sleeves and neckline. The dress also comes in a warm mocha color and a black option as well. If you aren't feeling this style, it comes in a pretty midi wrap version. (SIDENOTE:: not sure if this is happening for everyone- it wasn't happening to me yesterday or this morning but now it seems you have to login or create an account to shop Sezane website. I emailed asking them and will see what they have to say) 

I originally wanted to pair this dress with my grey Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots (I have the topo color) but the day I shot these photos it was super hot and humid and I decided to pair them with these Alexander Wang booties that I had scored on serious sale this summer from Shopbop. They would also look great with a boot that hits right below the knee like these by Dolce Vita or these short booties in the winter grey color (love these!)

MINI DRESSES::

If I'm going to give you my honest opinion, I would choose a midi or a maxi dress over a mini dress almost always. With that said, I love a good mini dress and bootie combo for fall. Obviously I'm very limited in what I can wear now with a bump but if I did not have this massive belly I would definitely be purchasing this little blue number from H&M (the price is amazing) and this one by Rebecca Minkoff. This mini is also so gorgeous and I'm obsessed with sleeve detail and the colors but it is definitely more of a splurge. Same goes to this Ramy Brook number- how pretty is this floral print and color?!?

BOOTIES::

There are honestly way too many good ones out right now and it's so hard for me to narrow my favorites down. The ones I'm wearing in these pictures are from last season by Alexander Wang and I'm obsessed with them. I got them for close to 60% off this summer! They still make them in black. This bootie is very similar in shape and color but just doesn't have the same heel as my Alexander Wang ones. 

There is also a huge "western" trend going on right now in boots and I wasn't so sure at first but now I'm loving it. My obvious first choice is a major splurge that I most likely will never buy but I love these ones by Isabel Marant. I'm also kind of obsessed with these studded ones and this very similar pair as well.
