I love looooove when Sephora has a sale (which is rarely ever). I'm a self proclaimed "newbie" beauty and skincare junkie and love testing out different products. Above is a slightly older photo of some of my favorite beauty items and I'm going to break all of my current and tried and trued favorites below for you. You need to be a Beauty Insider member in order to get a 10% discount and if you are a Rouge or VIB you get 15% discount.
My skincare routine has completely changed in the last year and I've gotten pretty serious about using products that keep my skin looking fresh and young (as best as I can at almost 32). I try to be as "clean" and nontoxic as possible when it comes to skincare but have struggled going in that direction when it comes to my makeup.
MY ROUTINE::
ONE. Every morning I start out by washing my face with warm water. No cleanser or anything. Just a washcloth and warm water. After I pat my face dry I give my face about four to five sprays of this Hydrating Floral Essence by Tata Harper. It's a toner that leaves your skin looking plump and dewy and it also enhances any serums and moisturizers you use afterwards. If you are interested in testing out some of Tata's beauty products which are all nontoxic and smell amazing, then I highly suggest you purchase this Daily Essential's Kit. It is how I started using her products and became addicted to the Floral Essence, Resurfacing Mask (amazing and one of my must haves) the Replenishing Nutrient Complex (have not used since pregnancy because I'm not 100% sure about safety), and the Regenerating Cleanser. I'm also a huge fan of her face oil.
TWO. After I spray my toner, I used about five squirts of Vintner's Daughter (unfortunately not sold at Sephora but sold here) and pat it all over my face, neck, and décolleté.
THREE. This is a new favorite of mine. I bought the sample size Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream at Sephora a few weeks ago and I don't know how I lived without it so long. To me, it's the best moisturizer for my face that I've tried. It's light but really moisturizers my dry skin. I have seriously dry skin so I've always relied on thicker and heavier creams that always left my face feeling kind of heavy. This cream is the exact opposite. If I have enough time, I'm going to head to Sephora today to pick up the larger version and if not, I'm 100% buying it online tonight.That's about all I do to my face in the morning- however I'm adding this best selling C-Firma Day Serum (vitamin C is so important for your skin) and this eye cream to my routine after I pick these items up from Sephora today! I've also heard absolutely amazing things about the T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial by Drunk Elephant and was so excited to test it until Kaitlin informed me that it's a no-no for pregnant women. I will definitely be trying this post baby though!
MAKEUP
I've actually stopped wearing makeup most days which I know to all my friends from college sounds crazy. But I feel like my skin does so much better the longer I take off from wearing makeup. However when I do put on makeup this what I use (giving you the whole shebang here- day and night staples)
CC CREAM:: I've bounced around between CC creams, tinted moisturizers, and BB creams. I really don't like using foundation and have never owned any, but when I'm looking for more coverage I use this CC Cream by IT Cosmetics. It is hands down my favorite. Kaitlin also just started using it and my sister tried mine over the weekend and just bought it as well. I'm still on the hunt for a decent, "nontoxic" and cleaner option but have yet to find it. If you have one you can recommend, PLEASE let me know!
CONCEALER:: I've tested out many concealers. I'm talking around twenty or so and my favorite is this one by Lancome. I used shade Camee.
BRONZER:: I've also tested out a million bronzers as well and my all time favorite is sold out at Sephora but it's here full price if you are interested. I also use NARS Laguna and love it as well.
EYESHADOW:: I love testing out eyeshadow palettes and the NAKED ones by Urban Decay are always good. I'm currently using NAKED2.
BROW PENCIL:: I'm still working on my brow filling skills but can't believe I went so long without ever filling my brows in. I'm also seriously considering getting them micro bladed after baby. I use this brow pencil by Benefit and use it in shade 2. It has a great brush I always used after I fill in to smooth everything out and make it look more natural.
HIGHLIGHTER:: I'm definitely guilty of over highlighting but I just love the look of glowy and dewy skin. I've tested out so many highlighters from creams, to sticks, to powders and gels- you name it, I've tried it. I have two favorites. I use BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in both Champagne Pop and Moonstone. SO pretty. I also love Benefit's Watt's Up! Highlighter.
MASCARA:: I drifted for a while but after I saw my friend's lashes a few years ago I came back to using Dior mascara and will never switch again- unless someone finds a natural one they think is just as good as Dior!Ok wow...I feel like I just put out a lot of info there. I'll link everything below as well and please feel free to send us any questions!
