Friday Favorites :: My Current Roundup

I have to apologize for my lack of instagram posts lately. The truth is I haven't gotten out of my black leggings all week (two weeks?). Something about the snow/slush on the ground leaves me feeling highly unmotivated to dress. Especially when my kids have monster colds and wind up wiping their runny noses all over me. (I'm sorry, I know some people get really grossed out by that). I also feel like I haven't had the time I used to have to commit to the blog and have to thank Kaitlin for picking up the slack. We each try to come up with two+ posts a week but these past few weeks have gotten away from me (babies not napping when they are supposed to be :( thanks Lila..) But I've decided I'm going to carve out a few hours a week purely for the blog.

This leads me to today's post. Couldn't quite pick one favorite for today and decided to do a roundup of all the great items I've found on some of my favorite sites. Like this bag. I hadn't checked out BR in ages and decided to browse a bit and instantly fell in love with this bag. Reminds me of this Chloe Faye bag but without the price tag. It also comes in an awesome blue.  There are sooo many good sweaters at Madewell right now. I love this one with the fringe detail. 

PS:: I've had this version of this song on repeat. I know, I know, I'm like twenty years late to the game but in my defense I've pretty much been listening to the wheels on the bus and hello everybody for 3 years now.

It's Thursday and we are rounding out the week that felt like a month. Winter storm Jonas really left a dent here in NYC and it's safe to say I'm already over the snow. My snow boots have gotten their fair share of use but I'm ready to get back to my suede booties.

Tuesday Shoesday :: Kaanas

Having both been down in Palm Beach over the holiday weekend, our resort wear was on full display. With that being said, I felt like I was lacking in the sandal department. Like cover-ups, sandals are prone to some serious wear and tear from sand, salt water and sunscreen.

Kaanas offers a stylish sandal that doesn't break the bank. The two styles we are loving are the Haiti and the Tobago. With neutral colors and an espadrille bottom these slides go perfectly with any outfit both on and off the beach.

Friday Favorites :: The Saddle Bag

One of this season's "It" bags is the saddle bag. It can be worn cross body or draped on one shoulder, this equestrian styled bag has been revamped by some of our favorite designers (we love this one).

We also love the saddle bag because it can be worn day to night and because of it's size it's a great piece to purchase in a fun color. We both tend to stick with more neutral colored bags, I think the craziest we have gotten is blue.

Friday Favorites :: Maaji Swimwear

I have been doing a major revamp of my beach wear. Lotion and sand can have quite the wear and tear on cover-ups and suits so I think a cleanout every few years is totally acceptable. I all of a sudden had a revelation I needed to explore Maaji swimwear. I am loving this crochet romper and I just purchased this bikini. The fabric and print are amazing!  It's so colorful and the fit feels like it was made for your body. Take a look at what we picked out this Friday from Maaji - enjoy the long weekend!!

Tuesday Shoesday :: Ugg's Lodge Boot

It's pretty hard keeping up with this New York winter. One day it's freezing and the next is 60 degrees. After spending a week in Florida over New Year's, I returned to a wake up call. No more sun and sand for this chick. The NYC winter hit me hard and I decided to needed to bite the bullet and buy a pair of Ugg's.

I needed something warm and easy to put on to walk the dog, walk to the gym and finally commute to work. I wanted a comfortable boot for all of this running around and I couldn't think of a better option.

Having purchased the Lodge boot  - I can happily say I am very warm and comfy! I love the lace up look of these because they are actually pretty cute with jeans or even my workout clothes. Although I cannot be seen in my late night walk the dog outfit, they go nicely with my sweats! Checkout the Lodge boot if you're in the market for a new winter shoe. Trust me you will not be disappointed and they run true to size!!

Golden Globes :: Our Best Dressed Picks

Last night's Golden Globes were anything but boring. I for one play with a print out of every category and mark my answer's before the show. Having seen quite a few of the films - not so much TV I only answered four correctly!!


Besides Leo winning and my almost teary outburst of FINALLY, we thought we would round up our best dressed from last night. I know my girl crush Rosie was one of my favorites as well as J.Law - I mean that necklace!?

Friday Favorites :: Faux Real

I have been a fan of the whole fur vest look for a long, long time now. There is something very chic about them in an effortless sort of way. However, as much as I love the look, I've never been able to buy the real thing. I actually cringe (and gag) when I touch them in the stores. I know you must think I'm a walking contradiction because I do wear leather, but there is something about fur that really rubs me the wrong way. That's why I'm always on the hunt for a really good faux fur vest. And luckily for me, this year there has been a huge selection of really good faux ones! This being my all time favorite, and this one coming in at a close second.

Designer Spotlight :: Jeffrey Campbell

My love for Jeffrey Campbell started when I purchased these boots in black AND brown several years ago. Ever since I bought them they have still maintained their edgy look through years of wear and tear.

What brought back my love for the brand was a) freezing temperatures in NYC have brought them out of the closet and b) shopbop's recent selection of Jeffrey Campbell shoes.

Today I "hearted" these loafers and these heeled sandals! If you are new to the brand then take a look below - not only are they great looking but also a great price!
